List of the Top 10 Easiest States to Do Business in Nigeria

 Infrastructure and security, transparency and access to information, regulatory environment, and skills workforce readiness were all scored on a 10-point scale for each state.


The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, chaired by Yemi Osinbajo, has released the results of a survey. Professoryemiosinbajo (@professoryemiosinbajo) 

These factors served as the foundation for calculating the state's overall performance. The report was completed by KPMG Professional Services between November 2020 and January 2021.

With a score of 7.69, Gombe remains the country's favorite, outperforming other states and the Federal Capital Territory in terms of ease of doing business (FCT). 


The top 10 performers among the 36 states of the union are listed below.

On Thursday, February 4, the federal government stated that registration for the guaranteed offtake stimulus scheme and the regular Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) grant would begin on February 9.


100,000 MSMEs would profit from GoS 100,000, and Nigerians would gain from a one-time N50,000 MSME award, thanks to the assured off-take stimulus scheme and general MSME grant.


The MSMEs survival fund and guaranteed off-take stimulus scheme, according to Mariam Katagum, minister of trade and investment and member of the steering committee, is aimed at protecting and sustaining the incomes of vulnerable Micro and Small Enterprises by guaranteeing the offtake of their products.

Meanwhile, Lagos continues to be the preferred destination for foreign investors in Nigeria, topping the list of states that drew the most investments in 2020, surpassing other states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).


Lagos, Nigeria's economic nerve center, drew $8.31 billion in investments, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Court orders ASUU to call off strike

  The Academic Staff Union of Universities was told to end its ongoing strike by the Nigerian National Industrial Court on Wednesday.
