Two Popular Singers That Davido Didn't Call Out To Send Him Money.




The popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known by his stage name Davido, took to his Twitter account this afternoon to prank his fans and associates, asking them to send him money for his forthcoming 29th birthday. Although, the singer was only trying to play pranks with his initial tweets in which he was requesting for donations, but it eventually became a serious matter with many popular Nigerians home and abroad sending money into the bank account he posted.

David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, a prominent Nigerian singer, pranked his followers and associates on Twitter this afternoon, asking them to send him money for his upcoming 29th birthday. Although the musician was merely trying to be amusing with his initial tweets soliciting donations, it quickly escalated into a serious situation, with many prominent Nigerians at home and abroad contributing money to the bank account he posted.


Davido began the whole thing around 1 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, and as of 7 p.m., he had amassed a total of 114 million naira. Meanwhile, he began contacting other celebrities on Instagram, requesting that they send their one million naira donations to him.


Davido began by criticizing popular rapper Olamide Baddo, who was quickly joined by others. Meanwhile, celebs such as Don Jazzy, Phyno, Nairamarley, Zlatan Ibile, Mayorkun, Eniola Badmus, and others have donated a million naira after Davido tagged them on his Instagram story.


However, there are two popular Nigerian celebrities who are also singers, but whom Davido neither called out nor tagged on his Instagram page during the course of his donations request.


1. Wizkid


Amongst the two popular celebrities that Davido didn't call out during his shout-out session on IG yesterday was Wizkid. It is possible that this wasn't an intentional act by Davido, however, the fact that the two singers have had to dealt with issues of rumoured beef between is not concealed.


2. Burna Boy


Another popular singer that Davido appeared to have shunned during his fund-raising activities yesterday was Burna Boy. Also, there has been series of reports concerning the alleged misunderstanding between Burna Boy and Davido.

We hope it is not that Davido intentional shunned his colleagues as that won't be good enough for the Nigerian music industry.

Court orders ASUU to call off strike

  The Academic Staff Union of Universities was told to end its ongoing strike by the Nigerian National Industrial Court on Wednesday. According to The PUNCH, ASUU has been on strike since February 14 to emphasize its demands for increased financing for institutions and a review of professors' pay, among other things.
