I don’t want to die, I regret everything — Alleged Super TV boss killer, Chidinma pleads

Chidinma Ojukwu, a 21-year-old University of Lagos Mass Communication student who allegedly stabbed Super TV Chief Executive Officer Usifo Ataga to death, has appealed for forgiveness, saying she is not ready to die.

She blamed her behavior on the use of heavy drugs and smoking.

“I started smoking after I got into UNILAG,” she explained.

Chidinma had been seeing 50-year-old Ataga for roughly four months before the incident, according to Netnewshome.

The student claimed she and Ataga were "having fun" when they got into an argument and she stabbed him twice.

Chidinma had been dating Ataga, 50, for four months before the event, according to Netnewshome.

When she and Ataga got into an altercation, she stabbed him twice, she alleged.

Chidinma pleaded with the Ataga family to forgive her in an interview with The Punch, stating she doesn't want to die because of the issue.

Mr. Ataga was someone I regret killing. I'm not sure what the future holds for me, but I don't want to die. Please, I don't want to die as a result of this situation. I've never killed somebody before.

“I was merely trying to keep my composure while answering questions during the procession, not that I'm not sorry.” Everything I did was completely regrettable, and I apologize.

“I sincerely apologize to Mr. Ataga's family for what I did. I would not do something like that if I had my life back. I sincerely apologize and hope you will forgive me.”
